Commentary: My Cool Father's Love of Music

Commentator Rebecca Flowers recalls her father's musical talent and obsessions. He bought her a drum set when she was a child, expecting her to keep time for his playing. As a teen, she rebelled — but later, in graduate school, it was cool to love the jazz he taught her. She envisions herself turning into her dad, and passing his love of music on to her own daughter.
