U.N.: HIV Infections Hit Record High in 2003

Roughly 5 million people became infected with HIV in 2003, more than in any previous year. A United Nations study concludes that AIDS appears to be an increasingly global epidemic, currently spreading rapidly in Eastern Europe and Asia.
