Food Label Bill Seeks Clarity on Gluten

Up to 3 million Americans suffer from celiac disease, an immune disorder triggered by foods containing the protein gluten, such as wheat, barley and rye. A new federal food labeling bill calls on the Department of Health and Human Services to define the meaning of "gluten-free." NPR's Renee Montagne discusses the disease with Dr. Edward Hoffenberg of the University of Colorado.
