The Bush administration is urging the U.N. Security Council to pass a resolution on Sudan this week that would demand the Khartoum government halt an ethnic cleansing campaign in the western region of Darfur. Arab militias — believed to be government-backed — are killing and raping black villagers there. Hear NPR's Michele Kelemen.
