Key Attica Figure Smith Dies

Frank Smith, a former inmate at New York's Attica prison, has died. Smith became famous for his role in the 1971 Attica uprising and the ensuing efforts to win compensation for the prisoners. He tells the story of the uprising in his words from NPR archive tape, and Melissa Block talks with his lawyer, Elizabeth Fink, who worked closely with Smith for 30 years.
