Audio for this story from Performance Today is not available.

Alexander Glazunov wrote his five novelettes for string quartet when he was only 19 years old and full of enthusiasm for international folk music. We'll feature three of them played at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, S.C., by the St. Petersburg String Quartet. The movements are The Spanish, The Ancient Style and The Orientale.
