NPR's John Ydstie talks with John Allen, Vatican correspondent for The National Catholic Reporter, about Sunday's beatification ceremony for five prospective Catholic saints. One of the new saints is Sister Anne Catherine Emmerich, a 19th-century German nun. An account of her visions of Jesus' last hours was a major source for Mel Gibson's film The Passion of the Christ.
