Forty years ago, student activist Mario Savio stood on the steps of Sproul Hall in Berkeley, Calif., demanding the right to engage in political activity on the campus. Savio's actions touched off a national change in allowing politics onto campuses, which had been banned. NPR's Margot Adler reports.
