Apple Picking, and Picking Apples
One of the pleasures of autumn is the abundance of fresh, crisp apples. Weekend Edition essayist and food afficianado Bonny Wolf longs for the days when more than 17,000 apple varieties grew in the United States. Happily, Bonny has discovered that some forgotten apple trees are again bearing fruit.
