A French plane departs Amman, Jordan, carrying Palestinian President Yasser Arafat to Paris for urgent medical treatment. Since 2002, Israeli troops have effectively confined the Palestinian leader to his West Bank compound in Ramallah. Hear NPR's Julie McCarthy.
