Race Sparked Surge in Voter Turnout
Early indications are that more than 120 million Americans voted Tuesday, and that turnout rose by as much as 20 percent in some states over 2000. No single issue was decisive, according to Andrew Kohut of the Pew Center for the People and the Press.
