National Geographic Portraits 'In Focus'
Listen

Robb Kendrick/National Geographic
For the cover of In Focus, Robb Kendrick photographed a ranchers daughter in Elko, Nev., using the early tintype process to create an antique look.
NPR's Alex Chadwick explores the new book In Focus: National Geographic Greatest Portraits, a collection of hundreds of photographs pulled from the magazine's vast archives. Chadwick talks with the book's editor, Leah Bendavid-Val, and with Ashley Riggs, the 16-year-old girl whose portrait appears on the cover.
