Mexican Government Wants Recognition for Country's Cuisine

Mexico's cuisine has a long history: Dishes still served today come from pre-Hispanic times. Among them are local delicacies such as ant eggs and a fungus that grows on corn in the rainy season. Now, the Mexican government is asking UNESCO to declare its cuisine a "Masterpiece of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity." NPR's Lourdes Garcia-Navarro reports.
