NPR's Madeleine Brand speaks with Michael Silverbatt, host of Book Worm on member station KCRW in Santa Monica, Calif., about the life of author Susan Sontag. She wrote numerous novels, essays and nonfiction books, including On Photography and Regarding the Pain of Others. She died Tuesday of leukemia at the age of 71.
