Calmer Basra Draws Iraq's Candidates

A predominantly Shiite city with a substantial Sunni Muslim minority, Basra has been spared from much of the violence of recent months. As a result, the southern Iraqi city has seen more open campaigning for the Jan. 30 poll than Baghdad or other northerly towns.
