A bomb explodes outside a British base in southern Iraq, wounding five soldiers. The explosion marks the first time the British military has been targeted by the Iraqi terrorist group headed by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Zarqawi's group said the attacks were a response to revelations about abuse of Iraqi prisoners by British soldiers.
