Evolutionary Biologist Ernst Mayr Dies at Age 100
Preeminent biologist Ernst Mayr died Thursday morning at 100. His theories have shaped scientists' current understanding of evolution and biodiversity. Mayr's first scientific publication appeared in 1923, and he was still working unitl the final days of his life.
