Abbas Meets with Hamas, Islamic Jihad Leaders

Fresh violence during the past week in the Middle East clouds a cease-fire pledge by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Abbas met Saturday with leaders of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, seeking support for a truce.
