The biggest winner at this year's Grammys was music by John Adams. His On the Transmigration of Souls — written to commemorate the events of September 11, 2001 — was awarded Grammys in three categories: Best Classical Album, Best Orchestral Performance, and Best Classical Contemporary Composition. Lorin Maazel leads the New York Philharmonic in the recording, along with the New York Choral Artists. We hear several samplings of the music, along with remarks from John Adams about his music.
