Web Extra: Sylvia McNair Sings Arlen's 'Stormy Weather'
Hear Kapilow Discuss "Over the Rainbow"
A century ago, the great American songsmith Harold Arlen was born in Buffalo, New York. The composer of over 400 songs, including "Get Happy," "It's Only a Paper Moon," and "One for My Baby," Arlen is probably best known for the music of the 1939 film, The Wizard of Oz. With songs like "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" and "We're Off to See the Wizard," the film became an instant classic, but commentator Rob Kapilow says that one song, in particular, stands out above the rest. He pays tribute to Arlen's "Over the Rainbow."
