Suicide bombers in Iraq attack three mosques and a ceremonial procession on the eve of Ashoura, one of holiest days for Shiite Muslims. Nearly 30 people were killed and dozens more injured in the violence, including an attack at an Iraqi police checkpoint. The attacks seem designed to heighten Shiite-Sunni tensions.
