Israel turns control of Jericho over to the Palestinians. The handover is part of an agreement reached between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in February. Jericho is the first of five West Bank towns to be handed back to the Palestinians.
