Senators to Hear Social Security Proposals

The Senate Finance Committee will hear from authors of four plans for Social Security's long-term solvency. Three of the plans include some form of private accounts, which President Bush favors. But opposition from Democrats and nervousness among Republicans mean congressional action on the issue is far from certain.
