ED GORDON, host:

It was a tough act to follow at the annual dinner of the White House Correspondents' Association. First lady Laura Bush stole the show. She got big laughs with jabs at the president, including his tendency to get to bed by nine. So no one envied comedian and actor Cedric the Entertainer, who had to follow her show-stealing performance. But being the pro that he is, Ced stepped up to the plate.

CEDRIC THE ENTERTAINER: Lord. The president's got, you know, his main girl with him, Condoleezza Rice. Condi, how are you? Con-Condoleezza. I love that name, Condoleezza. It's so soulful. You know, she's very professional, but Condoleezza--come on, right there. Condoleezza. It's two people, though. You know, the name is broken down. There's the Condi, who's--that's the person you see on television with, you know, the nice hair and very professional. Then there's the Leezza.

(Soundbite of laughter)

CEDRIC THE ENTERTAINER: Girl! Ain't that a surprise? Look at that...

GORDON: That, again, was Cedric the Entertainer at the White House Correspondents' dinner Saturday night.
