The Botticelli Triptych

See the paintings that inspired Respighi:

Ottorino Respighi's music has been described as "new old music." The composer often looked to Italian art and history for inspiration, incorporating the themes into his works.

His Botticelli Triptych brings to life three paintings by the Italian Renaissance master Sandro Botticelli. Michael Palmer leads the orchestra of the Bellingham Music Festival in Spring, Adoration of the Magi and Birth of Venus.
