on the investigation into a real estate deal by Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham. The California Republican, a member of the House Defense Appropriations subcommittee, sold his house in 2003 to the president of a defense contracting firm, who then sold it a year later at a $700,000 loss. This came at around the same time the firm began receiving large government defense contracts.
