Birdie Kim, a 23-year-old South Korean, won the U.S. Women's Open golf championship Sunday with a one-under-par birdie on the final hole. The relatively unknown golfer stole the spotlight from the pre-tournament favorite, Annika Sorenstam of Sweden.
