Ben Lee was in his early teens when he released his first solo record under the Beastie Boys’ Grand Royal label. Now he’s back with a great new album, Awake Is the New Sleep.

The CD is the sixth from the 26-year-old Australian, who is known for layering thoughtful lyrics on top of catchy tunes. And Awake doesn't break that string, as it brings a light touch to the sometimes heavy world of the singer-songwriter.
