From souvenirs to postcards. Lalo Schifrin was born in Argentina, but is an adopted son of the U.S. movie industry. Some of his newest music received its world premiere at Lincoln Center in New York recently. The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center played his "Tango del Atardecer" (ah-tar-de-SEHR), one of Schifrin's "Letters from Argentina." This is the world premiere of that piece. The group went on to play Schifrin's best known tune, the theme from Mission Impossible.
