With less than a month to go before Senate confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee John Roberts are set to begin, the ad wars are beginning to heat up. There is a new ad, harshly critical of Roberts, by an abortion rights group. Its claims have been questioned, and it led to a soon-to-be released ad defending Roberts.

The ad war is only part of the simmering battle over the Roberts nomination, as Democrats continue to insist the Bush administration release more documents.
