In 1928, Constant Lambert was the first English composer to write a piece for the Ballet Russes, his Romeo and Juliet. In his version, the lovers manage to escape together by airplane. Barry Wordsworth conducts the BBC Concert Orchestra in the Musette and Alla Marcia from Lambert's ballet Romeo and Juliet.
