Anya Grundmann

Anya Grundmann is Executive Producer of NPR Music. In that role, she oversees NPR's multi-genre online music discovery website, a partnership between NPR and flagship music stations and programs across public radio. The site presents more than 250 music features a month, including music stories heard on NPR programs like All Things Considered and Morning Edition, and original content such as the popular program All Songs Considered, live concerts, studio sessions, music lists, interviews, reviews and blogs. NPR Music also serves as a central music resource for NPR, producing national radio specials, the newly-launched Concert Spotlight, and the program World of Opera.

Before the launch of NPR Music, Anya was Executive Producer of the NPR Music Unit, producing the national classical programs Performance Today, SymphonyCast and World of Opera. She began her career at NPR as Associate Editor and then Supervising Editor of Performance Today, winning a coveted Peabody Award. As a Special Projects producer for NPR, she produced the seriesCreators at Carnegie, a multi-genre concert series from Carnegie Hall, featuring musicians from Brian Wilson, to Audra McDonald, Richard Goode and Youssou N'Dour.

In 2002-2003, Anya was a Fellow in the National Arts Journalism Program at Columbia University. She currently co-Directs the NEA Institute for Classical Music and Opera writers, a professional development program for mid-career arts journalists. She serves on the board of Dumbarton Concerts in Washington, D.C., and her articles about music have appeared in such publications as Newsday and Symphony Magazine.
