Joel Holland's pumpkin won the World Championship Weigh-Off in California Monday. A crane was needed to hoist Holland's pumpkin out of his pick-up truck and onto the scales. It weighed 1,229 pounds — exactly the weight of his winning entry last year. At one point, he says, the pumpkin was gaining 30 pounds a day. You could make 600 pies with it, but Holland's plans to carve it into a giant jack-o-lantern.
