Romeo Cascarino and Dvorak

Audio for this story from Performance Today is not available.

Carl Sandburg's poem "Grass" was the inspiration for music by Romeo Cascarino. Cascarino used the title "Blades of Grass" for his music for horn, harp and strings. English horn player Sharon Meekins and harpist Deborah Hoffman are the soloists, with Robert Manno leading the Windham Music Festival Orchestra. Then, from a Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center concert, soprano Dina Kuznetsova joins pianist Charles Wadsworth for the Dvorak song, "Offer a Hawk a Cage."
