Alito Open to Thoughtful Compromise on Abortion

Commentator Danielle Crittenden argues that majority of Americans agree on the issue of abortion. For this reason, she thinks the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court may be the best thing to happen to the abortion debate in decades.

She says Alito has shown himself to be open to thoughtful and humane compromises on abortion — ones that balance a woman's right to control her body with the rights of the potential child and the rights of the father.
