Morton Gould

During World War II, Morton Gould was musical director of a radio show called Cresta Blanca Carnival. He needed a song for a patriotic broadcast, so he wrote this set of variations on "When Johnny Comes Marching Home." Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops play Gould's "American Salute."
