Hans Abrahamsen's 'Kinderszenen' for Wind Quintet

Schumann's fun-loving scenes of childhood came to us as piano music. But recently, Danish composer Hans Abrahamsen arranged "The Kinderszenen" for the more playful colors of a wind quintet. The world premiere of that version took place last month at the Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen, played by members of the Diamond Ensemble.
