Alcohol Consumption: In the Eye of the Beholder

If you want to cut back on your alcohol consumption during the holidays, here's a simple tip: drink all your cocktails from a highball glass. A study in a British Medical journal, BMJ, finds that subjects poured 30 percent less alcohol when they were using a tall glass rather than a squat tumbler. Scientists call it "portion distortion" — the drink looks like more in a tall glass.
