Last year, the filmmaker put together the CD A John Waters Christmas, which includes such songs as "Here Comes Fatty Claus," "Little Mary Christmas" and "Santa Claus Is a Black Man." William S. Burroughs once crowned Waters "The Pope of Trash." His 1988 film Hairspray was made into a Tony award-winning Broadway musical. His other bad-taste classics include Polyester, Pink Flamingos, Serial Mom and the NC-17 rated A Dirty Shame. This interview was originally broadcast Dec. 14, 2004.
