Brahms

Audio for this story from Performance Today is not available.

Johannes Brahms was an unknown 20 year-old pianist when he met his hero, Robert Schumann. Schumann saw more potential in the young Brahms than Brahms even saw in himself. We'll hear Brahms' first effort at trying to live up to Schumann's opinion: his Piano Trio No. 1. From the 2005 Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, it's a concert by pianist Jon Kimura Parker, violinist Benny Kim, and cellist Eric Kim.
