A Record-Breaking Scoring Performance
SCOTT SIMON, host:
Hey Kobe, a girl can shoot better than you. This week, 17-year-old Epiphanny Prince of Brooklyn's Murray Bergtraum High School scored 113 points in the game, shattering the previous girl's record of 105 set by Cheryl Miller in Southern California. Brektom High defeated Louis Brandeis 137 to 32. Epiphanny Prince is a 5 foot 10 senior. She missed only six shots out of the 60 she attempted overwhelmingly two point goals.
She scored just one of her points from the foul line and hit just four three-pointers. We didn't plan this said her coach Ed Gradzinski (ph). She just scored like crazy. When I found out that I broke the record, I just started smiling said Epiphanny Prince. I couldn't stop smiling. Epiphanny Prince hopes to play for Rutgers next year and I'll bet they hope she plays for them too. A couple of weeks ago, Kobe Bryant scored just 81 points for the Los Angeles Lakers. What's his excuse.
