Huapango is a folk music and dance style from the Gulf coast of Mexico. In 1941, Mexican composer Jose Moncayo took three tunes in the Huapango style, and created a lively, animated piece for orchestra called "Huapango." The Mexico City Philharmonic gave the performance we'll hear during their European tour this season. From Dvorak Hall in Prague, Enrique Barrios conducts "Huapango," by Jose Moncayo.
