Since 1983, Tom Moon has been writing about pop, rock, jazz, blues and the music of the world. For much of that time, he was a music critic at The Philadelphia Inquirer. Today, among many other projects, he writes NPR.org's weekly column Shadow Classics, and contributes to Song of the Day.

Moon's work has also appeared in Rolling Stone, GQ, Blender, Harp, Vibe, Spin and more. He has contributed to NPR's All Things Considered since 1996.

Moon is currently at work on his first book, 1000 Recordings To Hear Before You Die, to be published in 2007.
