Pirates: 0, U.S. Navy: 1
All right, so I'm sitting in a bar/Mexican joint on Saturday — OK, it was noon, but still — CNN is on the TV, and I'm glancing at it occasionally while I'm concentrating on my fajitas. And then it pops up: "U.S. Navy Warships Attacked by Pirates."
Apparently, according to the Navy, U.S. ships came up on some suspicious boats off the coast of Somalia and the supposed pirates opened fire. I'll let you guess who won.
Of course, now the Somalis are saying the U.S. shot first.
But the reality of the story misses the whole point. Pirates! ARRRRRHHH! U.S. Navy! Fire the broadsides!!! Hoist the Jolly Roger!!!!
No word on whether the Flying Spaghetti Monster was sighted.
