Labor Issues and NAFTA

When NAFTA was negotiated, labor issues were purposefully left out of the discussions. Now, reality has caught up with us. The continuing economic integration of North America must make room for workers moving across the borders. This is a great opportunity for Congress to reflect on the wisdom of NAFTA and to propose a serious deal to Mexico and Canada on labor and migration. The alternative is to keep denying the obvious and keep walking down the path towards a double-standard economic partnership.
