Students from Reno, Nev., inadvertently replayed a scene from the movie Vacation. Kids from O'Brien Middle School piled into buses. They took a trip, riding four hours to the Six Flags Marine World, an amusement park in California. It was supposed to be a reward for good grades. But when they arrived at the park they discovered it was closed. Nobody thought to check the schedule. The tour company is promising to take the kids some other day.

STEVE INSKEEP, host:

Good morning, I'm Steve Inskeep. Students from Reno, Nevada inadvertently replayed a scene from the movie Vacation. Kids from O'Brien Middle School piled into buses. They took a trip, riding four hours to the Six Flags Marine World, an amusement park in California. It was supposed to be a reward for good grades. But when they arrived at the park, they discovered it was closed. Nobody had thought to check the schedule, and the tour company is now promising to take the kids some other day. You're listening to MORNING EDITION.
