The Power of the Human Voice
Two new discs from far-flung places that highlight the instrumental power of the human voice: Slovakian crooner Sui Vesan sings in an invented language, and Italian singer Gianmaria Testa's velvety voice belies his day job as a station master for the Italian rail system.

On this new World Village disc, Merging with the Brook, Sui Vesan collaborates with her husband, percussionist and guitarist Rado Spicka.
Gianmaria Testa
'Extra-Muros'
Gianmaria Testa comes from a farming family in the hills of Northern Italy, not far from the Mediterranean. Testa's album, Extra-Muros, dates from 1996, and was originally released on a French label.
