Harper Lee Keeps on Reading
SUSAN STAMBERG, host:
Good morning. I'm Susan Stamberg.
Harper Lee hasn't published much of anything in four decades, but now the author of To Kill a Mockingbird is in print again. And what literary publication is graced by her rare prose? It's O, the Oprah magazine. Harper Lee's written a letter about becoming a reader when she was a child. Today, she says, everybody's got iPods, cell phones, laptops, but, Harper Lee writes, I still plod along with books. This is MORNING EDITION.
