In Moliere's comedy, The Bourgeois Gentleman, the main character is utterly ridiculous: He tries just about anything to scratch his way into the noble upper class. Richard Strauss' music based on the play has a lot of that irony in it. The Lausanne Chamber Orchestra performs "Menuett" and "Intermezzo," two movements from Strauss' orchestral suite.
