Lots of operas are filled with political drama, but only a few feature recent political drama. Composer John Adams breaks the mold. In 1985, he composed the opera Nixon in China. His opera featured characters such as Richard Nixon, Henry Kissinger and Mao Zedong. Edwin Outwater conducts the Texas Festival Orchestra in a performance of John Adams' The Chairman Dances.
